… We could all gain consciousness and become a KIND & VEGAN world?
Why not?
What mind viruses are keeping us from achieving something intelligent that would solve a great many of our problems? What do we need to start doing in our personal and more public lives, that could actually impact all our environments and the real wellness of our world?
For me, it has been a very kind evolution to this point, where I no longer eat anything derived of animals, once I knew the truth about how animals are actually mistreated, even in milk and egg production. Let alone the very harmful CO 2 generation of raising cattle… Have you any idea of this impact?
Last year, I was not even thinking about becoming vegan- and still eating some sardines and eggs for their nutritional qualities- when I ran into THE KIND DIET by Alicia Silverstone, which really opened up my mind, body and HEART to a new KIND of eating, drinking and, most of all, thinking and seeing the world. Because this is really nothing short of a TRANSFORMATION that I have had… Since July 2011… And keep having, to the point of REALLY CARING about… Well, everything that really matters!
I am ever more conscious about where food is grown, produced and how natural and good it really is- or IS NOT- as well as how animals are treated… I have to confess: it breaks my heart every day, just thinking about this system in which animals and people are in jail, because that is easier than finding healthy HUMANE solutions for them… What are we doing?
And, sure, I like progress, I like cities and everything that man has created… But the EXPENSE is HUGE and I really hope that we become more and more conscious as a whole and holistic planet; so that we can actually DO something about it, with education that begins with taking care of ourselves, in body, mind, emotions and SPIRIT… Think about it: at least 90 % of all illnesses can be prevented by correct programming and thinking patterns… PROFOUND.
I work for companies that are ever more green and sustainable, which I respect and admire, and sometimes I really have to make a focus shift to what I need to get done as a way of servicing others… So that, like these big companies that are making a difference, I, too, may build networks of Holistic Fitness & Wellness & Sustainable W-Health ; ) I like that: it makes me HAPPY to be the change I want to see in the world- as Gandhi teaches-, and to know that no matter where we are, we can build a better FUTURE for us and our next generations… That if we actually STOP the destruction, will survive and hopefully THRIVE in an ideal but POSSIBLE world in which we use our human INTELLIGENCE to PRODUCE- of course, we need to produce- in a way that is actually SUSTAINABLE… Say, we eliminate vegetation only if we can actually grow it back and preserve the NATURAL FLOW and, using my Biology career, find ways to keep nature and/or BUILD new nature as compensation for our ecosystems… Or if we start using clean sources of energy, for which we already have the technology… Why not?
I know it is really complicated, but not only in our personal lives do we need to SIMPLIFY…
And speaking of personal lives, what can WE DO in our personal life, that can have a MULTIPLIER EFFECT in our world?
Well, for one, let´s all GO VEGAN, one step at a time, as Alicia Silverstone so brilliantly shows you how in her awesome book (not getting paid for the promotion
; ) Just believe that everyone should at least read the book and start “flirting” with veganism… Perhaps one meatless dinner at a time…
Here are my first tips on how to BE VEGAN in this very cruel- or nasty as Alicia calls the killing and abusing animals- world:
1. EXPLORE all delicious and practical protein sources, such as great varieties of beans. That in itself is quite a great experiment, since you can try different preparations that are always exciting and never ever boring.
2. Go NUTS with nuts and seeds that you can carry in your gym bag, car, purse, briefcase… Just anywhere, as an excellent strategy for having great nutrient packed (best fats, protein, fiber and phytonutrients) snacks that keep you always satisfied.
3. Love your SMOOTHIES, in which you can include more carrots and parsley- my favorites- than you would ever eat on a plate. For this, I highly recommend the Vitamix, where you keep every food whole+holistic, never sieving nor taking out the best sources of soluble and insoluble fiber…
